Amanda Johnson - Executive Director
Amanda joined the Howe Community Resource Center team in July 2012. Amanda received her Master's Degree in Social Work from UW-Oshkosh in 2011. Amanda previously worked as a case manager for families experiencing homelessness and in crisis intervention. Amanda is looking forward to empowering families and providing all of the resources necessary to strengthen their bonds and abilities to parent. In her free time, Amanda can be found with her husband watching their children play sports.
Holly Brockman - Parent Educator
Holly joined the Howe Community Resource team in May 2014. Holly received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from UW-Madison in 2012. Holly has experience in case management, home visiting, and working with at-risk youth and families. Holly enjoys working with families and is passionate about building positive connections between children and their caregivers. Holly enjoys spending her free time with family and friends; and enjoys being outdoors.
Julie Raasch- Parent Educator
Julie joined the Howe Community Resource Center in April 2017. Julie has worked for 14 years as a Parent Educator for Oconto County with UW-Extension working with teen and first time parents and for 3 years as a Parent Resource Center Educator for Oconto County with Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin. She is a certified infant massage instructor as well. Julie loves working with children and their families in play-based education. In her free time Julie likes doing activities with her family, watching her son’s sporting events, camping, walking/hiking, and baking.
Katey Heiser - Parent Educator
Katey began at the Howe Community Resource Center as a BSW intern in September of 2018. She was hired on as a permanent staff member in May of 2019. Katey has a Bachelor of Social Work Degree and an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Katey previously worked in a childcare setting for 3 years. In her free time, Katey enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, reading and watching football.
Amanda Schaefer - Bilingual Parent Educator
Hi! My name is Amanda. I recently moved back to the Fox Valley Area from Minnesota. I went to college at Winona State and also participated in their track and field program. I received my bachelors degrees in Criminal Justice and Spanish. In my free time I really enjoy spending time with my nephew, cat, or going for hikes. My favorite children's movie is The Lorax. I enjoy doing arts and crafts, playing piano, and enjoying time outside. I love learning new things and teaching kids a new skill. I have had a passion for helping others my whole life and I am so excited to start this role.
Valerie George - Development Director
Valerie began at Howe Community Resource Center as a volunteer board member and fundraising committee member in 2011. She was hired on as a permanent staff member in the Spring of 2014 to prepare for the first ever Rally for a Reason. Now, almost 5 years later, she still manages Rally for a Reason and her position has expanded to include marketing, operations and of course, fundraising. Valerie loves her job and is excited about the many people and businesses around the Green Bay area that want to see our programs succeed.
Valerie has a degree in Psychology from UW-Milwaukee and did post-graduate work in Business. On her days off, you can find her cooking, gardening or watching her kids in sports and musicals.
Pam Miller - Triple P Parent Educator
Pam joined the Howe Community Resource Center team in October, 2017. Pam previously worked in the corporate sector, both in the Insurance and Medical fields, for over 30 years. Upon retirement from the corporate world, Pam discovered the passion of working with parents and families in developing a strong, nurturing family connection through parenting and family education. Pam is a certified Triple P Provider and holds classes on a regular basis with many of our partners and here at the Howe Community Resource Center. Pam is also a certified Patient Advocate and Advanced Care Planning facilitator, who can assist families with navigating the healthcare system(s) and developing Advance Care planning needs. In her spare time, Pam enjoys traveling, gardening and supporting family members in their sports activities.
