Every child deserves the chance to grow, learn, and thrive—not just in school, but in life. Yet for many families, accessing mental health care can be difficult. Barriers like transportation, childcare, work schedules, or financial strain often make it hard for children to get the support they need.
That’s why we’ve partnered with Howe Elementary Community School to provide mental health services right at school. With care available during the school day, children can get help in a safe and familiar place, without missing valuable class time. Parents and caregivers benefit too, with fewer missed work hours and less stress about arranging appointments.
How It Works
- Referrals: Teachers or school staff can recommend a child for services when extra support may be helpful.
- Collaboration: With a signed release, our licensed counselor can share insights with teachers, helping them understand a child’s needs and support learning in the classroom.
- Family Partnership: Our licensed counselor works directly with parents and caregivers, providing strategies and encouragement so families feel supported at home as well as at school.
What We Support
Our school-based counselor helps children and families navigate challenges such as:
- Attention and focus struggles (ADHD)
- Anxiety, worry, or depression
- Coping with trauma or grief
- Behavior or classroom challenges
- Stress, transitions, or family separation
By offering these services in school, we remove barriers to care and strengthen the link between home and classroom. Children gain tools to manage their emotions, families feel less alone, and teachers are better equipped to help every child learn.
Why It Matters
For parents, this means having support you can count on. For children, it means having a safe place to talk about feelings, learn healthy ways to cope, and build confidence. With the right support in school, children can focus more on learning, strengthen relationships with peers and teachers, and develop skills that will carry them through life.
